Pablo Komlós Cultural Foundation

The Pablo Komlós Cultural Foundation was created on April 20, 2004, with the aimed of overseeing the construction of a headquarters for the Porto Alegre Symphonic Orchestra – Ospa. The first president was journalist Lauro Schirmer. Since 2006, this position has been held by Professor Luiz Osvaldo Leite.

The name of the foundation is in tribute to Hungarian maestro Pablo Komlós, who headed the orchestra upon its foundation, in 1950, and directed it until 1978. (Discover the history of Ospa! – link to historic information)
