The Pablo Komlós Cultural Fundation was founded in 2004 with the aim of making the much-needed construction of OSPA’s own headquarters come true. Today, besides working for the construction of the Casa da OSPA Cultural Complex, the institution collaborates in the task of the orchestra’s artistic programing, as well as managing other cultural projetcs connected to OSPA.
The foundation’s name pays homage to hungarian conductor Pablo Komlós, formerly in charge of Porto Alegre’s Symphonic Orchestra from its creation in 1950, to 1978. The first president of Pablo Komlós Cultural Foundation was journalist Lauro Schrimer. Currently, the position is held by Geraldo Lopes.
