He holds a bachelor’s and teaching degree in Philosophy and Theology and a bachelor’s degree in Classic Literature, with a graduate degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of California. He is a member of the Historic and Geographical Institute of Rio Grande do Sul, the Rio-grandense Academy of Letters and the Literary Study Circle – CIPEL. He is the ex-president of the old State Foundation for the Welfare of Minors – FEBEM-RS, ex-president of Ospa and ex-director of the Cultural Division of Porto Alegre City Administration. His extensive career includes work as a lecturer, previously having taught at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul – PUCRS, the University of the Sinos Valley – Unisinos, Feevale University and Faculdade Porto-Alegrense – FAPA. He has authored a number of works on education, philosophy, history and thinking specific to the region of Rio Grande do Sul and has been the president of the Pablo Komlós Foundation since 2006.
